Wood vehicle
August 20th, 2020
For this project, my class was assigned to take a picture of something with a blur. I chose to shoot a wooden toy car and set the shutter speed a little below average. It took me three shots to get the final one to the way it is. Afterwards, I edited the picture and added the B & W look and also added some grain to it.
My final reflection is that I would've liked to added the car's shadow and made it a little darker. There is somewhat of a shadow in there but it is very minimal.
Flamenco Dancer
August 28th, 2020
Literary TikTok. This assignment was about creating a Tik Tok about something we were reading at the time. We had the option of not making a Tik Tok and instead do something different. I chose to take a picture of a glass flamenco dancing and added a quote from the book, The Hunted by Matt De La Pena. The quote is a metaphor about a moon dancing but instead of shooting a moon, I shot a flamenco dancer to personalize it. Behind the dancer, there are several ice cream glass cups that you might not be able to tell right away what it is. You can also tell that the dancer's face is blurred. That was intentional, to give the picture some suspense and I wanted the viewers to give the picture some thought and think about what might be the dancer's expression. When editing it, I made the background a lagoon blue so that it could be complementary to the red, in the dancer's dress.
Crystal Moon

Darkness Photo: This assignment was about taking a photo that revolves around using darkness. Originally, I had taken shots of a duck figure in water and of a tea set. However, when I was editing them, I just couldn't imagine these being the shots for the assignment. I'd say I'm known for taking dark pictures with low lighting but I guess I wasn't in the right mood to get the right idea and shot. So instead, I got this moon picture which I had taken the previous week. The thing when shooting moons, there is no background, only the black sky so you have to really take the moon clear and in focus. Also, Mr. Farley keeps asking what camera I use to take pictures of the moon, and back in sophomore year, I had told him I use the Canon PowerShot. I like using this camera because I don't have to replace the lens since they're attached to the camera and it is pretty simple to use. It's also great for photography but not so much for filming which I don't mind since my main interest is photography.
